Dear Sir/Madam:

In light of the recent accident that took place over the Atlantic on August 24, 2001, which led to the emergency landing of your Airbus A330 at Lajes airport, in the island of Terceira, Azores;

In light of the penalty of $250,000 levied by the Federal Government for failure to perform and/or complete appropriate maintenance in your aircraft;

In consideration for the safety of many Portuguese citizens who fly with your company between Canada and Portugal,

as a member of the Portuguese Community Council (CCP), duly elected to represent the Portuguese community in Canada, I hereby serve you notice that, in case of any future mishaps of this nature, I will personally endeavour to seek remedy for all those affected by your proven negligence, be it physically or psychologically.

The safety and well-being of our Portuguese community is a major concern to me, ever since TAP Air Portugal pulled out its services to the Portuguese community in Canada. I will, therefore, follow your performance very closely, and will ensure that any future safety issues will be dealt with appropriately.
